Reyon Pharmaceutical Completes Registration in Japan for Superbug (MRSA) Antibiotic Supplied to Japanese Original Drug Developer
2026.02.20

Reyon Pharmaceutical announced that the local regulatory registration process for the superbug (MRSA) antibiotic raw materials to be supplied to a Japanese original drug developer was successfully completed as of February 10. Achieving this milestone just eight months after signing the supply agreement in June of last year serves as a strong testament to Reyon Pharmaceutical's exceptional global processing and regulatory capabilities. With this registration, the company's initiative to establish a supply chain encompassing virtually the entire Japanese MRSA antibiotic market has officially entered its main track.

Reyon Pharmaceutical's ability to deliver such an unrivaled achievement stems from the high technological barrier to entry associated with the raw materials. The MRSA antibiotic raw materials supplied by Reyon Pharmaceutical require highly advanced synthesis and purification technologies, and currently, Reyon Pharmaceutical is the sole manufacturer worldwide capable of producing them.

Japan is widely recognized for having exceptionally stringent drug master file (DMF) and raw material registration procedures. However, Reyon Pharmaceutical smoothly navigated the process, leveraged by its proven technical prowess and a track record of reliably supplying raw materials to Japanese generic manufacturers since the mid-2000s.

Following the completion of this registration, Reyon Pharmaceutical is scheduled to ship its first official batch to the original developer, based on the five-year long-term contract executed last year. This allows the company to secure an unrivaled position by pre-empting the original drug market on top of its existing generic market presence, thereby supplying raw materials to all major pharmaceutical companies across Japan.

An official from Reyon Pharmaceutical stated, "By successfully wrapping up the registration in Japan this past February, we have finally completed the Japanese supply chain that we have been solidly building over the years." The official added, "Moving forward, we will maintain a stable supply of raw materials grounded in our global-standard technology, while accelerating our expansion into broader global markets based on this success in Japan."
