Reyon Pharmaceutical announced on the 5th that it has signed a supply agreement with a Japanese original drug developer to provide raw materials for a superbug (MRSA) antibiotic. The newly executed agreement has an initial base term of five years and will be automatically renewed annually thereafter.
Since the mid-2000s, Reyon Pharmaceutical has reliably supplied MRSA antibiotic raw materials to Japanese generic manufacturers. Through this latest agreement, the company will now supply these materials to the Japanese original pharmaceutical company as well. As a result, the MRSA antibiotic raw materials produced by Reyon Pharmaceutical will be supplied to all major pharmaceutical companies in the Japanese market, positioning the company to establish an exclusive supply chain across virtually the entire Japanese MRSA antibiotic market.
An official from Reyon Pharmaceutical stated, "Supplying raw materials to a Japanese original developer serves as proof that our synthesis and purification technologies have been highly recognized." The official added, "This technology has a high barrier to entry, and currently, there are no other manufacturers capable of producing it besides Reyon Pharmaceutical."
Meanwhile, the size, detailed terms, and the identity of the counterparty of the contract will not be disclosed in accordance with the confidentiality clause in the agreement, following a mutual consensus between both companies.
